Our Story

It started with a terrible coffee recommendation. Priya insisted the espresso at a tiny café in Brooklyn was life-changing. James was skeptical — and he was right. The coffee was, charitably speaking, forgettable. But the conversation that followed lasted four hours and changed everything.

That was November 2019. Since then, we've lived through a pandemic in a one-bedroom apartment (and still like each other), adopted a golden retriever named Mango, moved to San Francisco, and had approximately 4,000 debates about the best way to make pasta.

James proposed on a Tuesday morning — no grand gesture, just the two of them in their kitchen, coffee actually good this time, sunlight coming through the window. Priya said yes before he finished the question.

On June 20, 2026, we're getting married in Napa Valley surrounded by the people who matter most. We are so glad you are one of them.

The Venue

We're getting married at The Rosewood Estate in Napa Valley — a 19th-century estate surrounded by vineyards, oak trees, and rolling hills. The ceremony will be held in the outdoor garden at 4:00 PM, followed by cocktail hour on the terrace at 5:00 PM, and dinner & dancing in the Grand Ballroom beginning at 6:00 PM. We'll have a shuttle running from the Westin Verasa hotel in downtown Napa every 30 minutes starting at 3:00 PM. Details and hotel booking link in the FAQ below.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?
The dress code is Garden Formal — think florals, linen suits, midi dresses, and anything that says "I dressed up, but I can still dance." The ceremony is outdoors on grass, so stilettos might be tricky. The venue can be breezy in the evening, so a light layer is a good idea. If in doubt, err on the side of overdressed — we will not judge.
Can I bring a plus-one?
If your invitation envelope was addressed to "and guest," then yes — please bring them along! If not, we ask that you come solo this time, as we have a tight guest list. Not sure? Just ask us — we promise not to be weird about it.
Are children welcome?
We love your little ones, but this is an adults-only celebration (with a couple of exceptions for immediate family, who have already been notified). We hope this gives parents an excuse for a rare night out — and we highly recommend it.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by May 1, 2026 so we can give our caterer and venue an accurate headcount. After that date, we sadly cannot guarantee a seat. If something comes up closer to the date, reach out to us directly.
Where should I stay?
We have a room block at the Westin Verasa Napa (just down the street from the venue) at a discounted rate of $209/night. Use code PRIYAJAMES2026 when booking at westinnapa.com. We also recommend Andaz Napa and the River Terrace Inn. Book early — June in Napa fills up fast!
Is there transportation to the venue?
Yes! We are running a complimentary shuttle from the Westin Verasa lobby to the estate throughout the evening. Pickup times: 3:00 PM, 3:30 PM, and 4:00 PM for the ceremony. Return trips will run every hour from 9:00 PM until midnight. Please plan to use the shuttle if you plan on enjoying the open bar (and you should).
What is on the menu?
We have worked with our caterer to put together a dinner menu we are genuinely excited about — seasonal California cuisine with Indian-inspired touches (yes, there will be excellent chaat at cocktail hour). We will have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options throughout. Please let us know your dietary needs in the RSVP form so we can take care of you.
Is there a gift registry?
Your presence is truly the greatest gift — we mean that. If you would like to give something, we have a small registry at Zola (zola.com/priyaandjames) and a honeymoon fund for our trip to Portugal. Cash and checks are also warmly received. Please do not feel any obligation.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We are having an unplugged ceremony — this means no phones or cameras during the vows, please. We have an amazing photographer and videographer who will capture every moment and share them with you afterward. For cocktail hour and reception, photograph to your heart's content!
Who do I contact if I have a question?
For anything wedding-related, email our day-of coordinator at weddings@rosewoodestatenapa.com. For personal questions, text Priya at (415) 555-0182 or James at (415) 555-0194. We will do our best to reply quickly, but no promises in the weeks leading up to the wedding!
